GEA Procomac Packaging has collected a long experience in the handling of difficult containers such as empty and full PET and glass bottles, even shaped, and cans.

On the basis of this experience, GEA Procomac Packaging has established a test facility in its headquarters in Collecchio near Parma, Italy. The test facility is composed by two circuits, one with chain conveyors for empty (glass, cans) and full (glass, cans, PET) containers and one with air conveyors for empty PET bottles.

The tests can be carried out with real samples of containers, that even Customers can attend, allowing:

• to determine the handling feasibility (stability) of a new bottle: this can be done implementing on the circuits the real project parameters, before receiving any purchase order, thus allowing to simulate the real final working conditions;
• to check if important marketing features, such as, for example, label type and positioning, can be affected due to conveyors side guards; solution can be found before mass market production;
• to define in advance the line automation parameters such as chain speeds; line installations become quicker, as the pre-studied parameters are set immediately after assembly.
